How To Measure Your Pond Size and Amount of Pond Conditioners To Administer

Once you know how many acres your pond is then it's easy to order the number of Pond Packs recommended.

STEP 1 - How Big is Your Pond in Acres?

For Circular Ponds

Simply measure the distance around the pond in feet and then multiply this number by itself - divided by 547,390. Eg. A Pond 400 ft around would be (400 X 400 = 160,000/537,390 = .29 acres) - just over 1/4 of an acre.

Square Rectangle and Irregular Ponds

For ponds that are square, rectangle or irregular in shape you compute the surface area of the pond by measuring the width by the length of the pond dividing it by 43,560. Eg. A pond 110 ft long by 150 ft wide would be (110 * 150 = 16,500/43,560 = .378 acres) - approx. 1/3 of an acre.

Flat Edged Ponds: Surface acres = length (Feet) * width (Feet) / 43,560
